The only superpower you need

The other day I watched Undercover Billionaire season 1.
There are many take-aways.
My biggest one?
The power of belief.

I often write about having a vision.
A clear image of what you’re trying to accomplish.
What you’re striving for.
Alone or as part of a team.

One component I haven’t touched on much is the power of belief.
Belief in oneself.
Belief in others.

It’s often this lack of belief that’s holding someone back.
So-called (self-)limiting beliefs.

We can have a clear vision.
But without belief?
It’ll stay just that: a mere vision.

All of us are capable of so many wonderful things.
All we need is an unlock.
Switching on those dormant genes.
Activating more neurons and synapses.
Pushing the neuroplasticity of our brain a bit more than we’re used to.

All we need is belief.

It’s not a quick solution.
Like pre-made packaged food.

It’s a solution that strengthens over time.
Like bone broth, you gotta let it simmer for a while.

But once done?
You’ve got yourself a winner.

How to build belief?
Show it can be done.
One way or another.

Along the way you may have to alter your short-term objectives.
But you’re getting the results.
Or you’re letting others get the results – if you want to instill belief in them.

One step at a time.
One activity at a time.
One result at a time.

Just a little bit more polished.
Just a little bit more efficient.
Just a little bit more effective.
Than you’re used to.

Belief has a lot to do with language.
Our words.
Our timing.
Our tone.

How we communicate – with ourselves or with others – isn’t changed so easily.
But everything starts with awareness.
Followed by intention.
Vision.
Reflection.
Improvement.
Implementation.
Rinse-and-repeat.

Belief is instilled over time.
Once instilled, nothing is impossible.
