The Time We Waste Every Single Day | Daily Jim 64

Replying emails?

Sounds like something you do throughout the day?

No?

How about replying text messages?

WhatsApp messages?

Facebook messages?

Instagram messages?

We all have a tendency to reply to these messages as soon as they come in.

Especially if we leave notifications on our phone on.

Even when we manage to fight the urge to reply to messages on our phone, we often convince ourselves to reply to emails.

It’s part of our work after all.

Isn’t that what I get paid to do?

No, you don’t.

You get paid to create something of value.

For some that can be sending emails.

The transaction of information.

But is that the case for most?

Most likely not.

Emails are more often than not distractions.

And the more often you check them in a day, the more time you are losing.

Not even time spent writing an email.

But simply time spent switching your focus from one task to another.
